About Al-Harah Theatre

Al-Harah Theater, established in 2005, is a non-profit organization based in Beit Jala, Bethlehem.

Al Harah Theater aims to produce theater that is well-crafted yet moving, challenging yet accessible and, essential, honest. We believe that theater has the potential to change the lives of those who make it and those who watch it.

“BORN IN BETHLEHEM” PLAY

“Born in Bethlehem” is a play that aims to revive the Holy Land and reminds you all of its past and its present.

“PEOPLE OF PAPER” PLAY

Three actors, present different types of disability (physical, mental, visual, hearing and speech disabilities), each of them show their daily life obstacles with the surrounded community.

“THROW THE STICK” PLAY

The play is based on the idea of protecting children from violence in schools and at homes. The actors show two examples of families whose children suffer from physical and verbal abuse.

“THE RED APPLE” PLAY

The play is based on a Swedish story about the journey of an apple from the tree to the winning in the competition.

“LONGING TO THE SEA” PLAY

Hanin is a little girl who challenges obstacles and difficulties, during a discovery trip to find answers to several questions she had after losing her grandfather and experiencing loneliness.

“THE OLD MAN SEM’AN” PLAY

The play is based on a Palestinian folk story about an old man who loves his land so much that he becomes so paranoid by children trying to destroy it.
